These pulls are best anchored into your drawer front recess with adhesive caulk. The fail rate is an absolute zero! Recessing is easily accomplished with an 1-1/8" forstner bit, and, subsequently, a chisel. This method is fast and accurate ( a good alternative to using a router). These pulls add a very subdued, classy touch.
I needed two recessed pulls for an unusual door project I did and these fit the bill. They are long, which I wanted, and provide a good grip under the lip, which I also needed. They look pretty nice when installed, even though they have a rather thin plastic inner shell. There is no template with the pull, so it takes some careful measuring and drilling and routering or chiseling. There is also no provision for fasteners to help hold them in, so I needed to drill holes in the shell for the small screws I chose to use to hold them securely in place. A very tight mortise would possibly hold them in place, and maybe some adhesive, though I'm not sure which adhesive would be best for joining the plastic to wood and hold for the long term. I needed to be sure they would not pull out, so I used screws. The price seemed a bit high, but not unreasonable.
